Men's Replica Watches -Buyer Beware!!
Real Rolex watches use high-grade 440 stainless steel, which weighs alot and sapphire crystals to keep accurate time.
The market for Rolex replica watches is growing at an unprecedented rate. Thanks to the Internet, dealers can now sell to people all over the globe. But some people who buy imitation Rolex watches often have expectations that the product simply can’t meet.
While everyone expects a quality product, even when paying about 5% of the cost of an authentic Rolex, there are certain things that just can’t be had when buying a knock-off of a $5000 watch.
Watch Replicas are a Waste of Money
The first thing that many guys expect (and many websites advertise) is that their replica will look and feel exactly like a genuine Rolex watch. When you buy either a Swiss or Japanese Grade 1 replica watch you’re getting a timepiece that looks similar to the real thing. However, similar does not mean indistinguishable. Simply holding a replica Rolex in one hand and a genuine in the other will reveal a huge difference in weight. Real Rolex watches use high-grade 440 stainless steel, which is both very heavy and very expensive. Don’t plan on finding this in a low-cost imitation watch.
Another thing that many people expect is exact movements. Most Swiss-made made Rolex replica watches use either a 25 jewel ETA, a 27 jewel ETA movement or a 31 jewel ETA movement. While these movements are adequate and fairly precise, they’re not of the quality that are used in authentic Rolex watches. Don’t be shocked if your replica Rolex doesn’t keep accurate time. Remember, the object of the replica is to look like the real thing, not function like it.
Genuine Rolex watches use expensive sapphire crystals and while some unscrupulous dealers may advertise that their replica Rolex watches use sapphire crystals, they don’t. In fact most imitation Rolex watches use mineral crystals, but the only way to test it, is to take a hammer to the crystal to test its strength. Dealers who lie depend on you not doing that. In fact, you’ll very rarely get authentic Rolex parts in a replica watch.
In addition to the pieces inside the watch, replica Rolex timepieces don’t use the same quality bracelets as true Rolex watches. While both manufacturers use stainless steel, Rolex employs a specialized process and uses a higher grade metal that insures durability and scratch resistance. You can often tell an authentic bracelet over a replica just by the weight. A real Rolex band is much heavier than the replica.
Shady Dealings Mean Shady Dealers
We shouldn’t even have to tell you this, but there are some dealers in the replica watch business who aren’t exactly ethical (now, there's a surprise). Some will sell you a product that’s much different that the picture on their website, while others have been known to send actual rocks, or other objects of the same weight as a watch, once they’ve gotten your money.
And using a credit card doesn’t always guarantee you any recourse. There have been many situations where Visa or MasterCard have declined disputes because they claim they’re merely the middle-man and don’t get involved between differences between merchants and customers. In addition, you ARE purchasing an illegal product, so if a merchant decides not to honor his end of the bargain, you can easily find yourself out the money you paid. If the vendor allows a COD payment, at least you’ll be able to inspect the product before you kiss your cash goodbye.
Expect Less And You Won’t Be Disappointed
We recommend that our Great Guys stay away from Replicas at all costs even though some of our guys that are owners of genuine Rolex watches would rather wear a replica out in public in case it would get stolen or damaged beyond repair - much better to lose a $300 replica than a $6000 original. Other guys, who need to impress people like bosses or clients, and can’t afford the real thing, often wear replicas to simulate stature and success.
But let’s be real here. You’re buying a fake product sold by someone who knows they’re ripping off a respected, internationally renowned company. Can you really expect them to deliver a great product with honesty and integrity?
So there are two important points to keep in mind when buying a 'Rolex' watch from an unauthorized dealer:
1. its buyer beware all the way.
And 2. the only way to get a real Rolex is to buy a real Rolex.
