Im desperate to learn Japanese but I don’t have the money nor the luxury to buy programs. What do I do?

by admin on December 1, 2011

Im A person who watches Japanese anime all day long, and i only watch the ones with subtitles as opposed to the english DUB versions….so I know how a japanese person speaks naturally, in fact it could be said that what i listen to is probably too perfect because of almost no stuttering or interruptions, or common forgetfulness. Anyways I have always admired the language and i find it to be very uniform and elegant. Alas i do not have the money to buy any programs, so I ask all of you people there to help..What can I do?

Go to google translate, and type in your words, hit from English to Japanese. IT can also say the words.

At least don’t think of using money. Use what you have on yourself. being clever is enough for someone to survive in any situation. If I were you, I’ll try to search online or watch youtube or even persuade a friend who knows japanese very well. I could also look for free programs around the net that are convenient enough for me. If there’s no choice then I would even go in part time jobs and buy a dictionary for myself even if just a cheap one. Be positive, there are tons of ways to reach what you want! :)

Could be very easy ; if you do that :

1- learn it as quickly as possibe i mean age .

2- Go learn it in the country of the language . lonely .

3- read newspaper ; daily .

4- watch Tv .

5- talk with people ; all times no shame .

But you must know that a language depend on 2 things :

1-Skill 2-love .

Japanese is tough! Best way is to move to Japan, marry a spouse who cannot speak a word of English.

Next best way: an immersion class where you are totally immersed in the language. Some city colleges should offer the course.

Get a basic textbook and start reading…

I suggest the “Genki” line of textbooks.

In order to get a leg up, learn Hiragana and Katakana.
Those are the two easy alphabets.

The best way to learn Japanese is through a variety of methods. You need to work on your grammar, listening, speaking, reading and writing. Its best to think of these as separate categories and focus on each specific category as these require different methods and techniques.

Start by learning the basics through grammar. These books really helped me:

• Shin Nihongo no Kiso I & II

• Shin Nihongo no Kiso Japanese Kanji Workbook

• A Course in Modern Japanese by The University of Nagoya Press

• An Introduction to Modern Japanese by Osamu Mizutani & Nobuko Mizutani
