@lonepantherkmt No, not everything. You’re off on your manual vs. automatic theory, but I’m not going to beat a dead horse. Your willful ignorance is dumbfounding; you couldn’t accept the fact that you were wrong so you turn into a troll. Complete idiot.

Do you have any experience with Jaeger-Lecoultre ? I’ve been thinking of either purchasing a Panerai or JLC (most likely reverso). Just wondering if you could give me some input because it’s been a real struggle to decide between the two brands. Anyways awesome video :)

@lonepantherkmt If what u r trying to say is that automatic watches can be manually wound, then u r correct.

He says “Panerai” correctly but with a north American accent. He might try holding the “rye” sound just a millisecond longer and… oh forget it!

You can have an automatic and wind it too. Believe me. And the comparison with the gearboxes is also wrong.
If you look at european cars, you can choose between automatic and semi automatic where the clutch is automatic an you are still able to choose the gear yourself.

Manual and Automatic are by all means different. It can’t be the same-either you wind it yourself (manually) or it has a mechanism that winds it for you (automatically). They are both mechanical, that’s not the issue. We’re simply talking about the way the watch is wound. It’s the same with cars guys-you either have a manual (stick), where you shift it yourself (manually) or you have an automatic where you put the car in gear and it shifts for you (automatically).

@lonepantherkmt No… Both manual and automatic movements are mechanical. Automatic movements don’t need to be hand wound, the movement of wearing the watch rotates a rotor which in turn winds a spring. Manual movements on the other hand have to be hand wound in order to wind the spring. They are different.

Oh no! That ugly magnifying bubble totally spoild the look of this watch! That’s what put me off most Rolexes too.

@lonepantherkmt The term automatic refers to the automatic winding system of a mechanical movement (rolex calls their automatic movements “perpetual”). Manual wind and automatic movements are both mechanical, but a manual wind is not considered automatic because the main spring is not wound automatically.

@lonepantherkmt Incorrect my man. Automatic watches have rotors (automatic winding) and manual wind watches do not. They are both MECHANICAL watches, but they are not both AUTOMATIC watches.

@simplyseven007 Corect me if i am wrong, but this has an ETA movement and not a Panerai manufacture. If it had a manufacture movement I could almost justify the price.

@lonepantherkmt

Manual wind watches are not automatics. Manual wind watches are “mechanical” watches, as opposed to quartz watches which are run by a battery, but they would not be confused with an auto. An automatic used a rotor that is turned by the wearer’s movement to wind the watch which is why it is “automatically” wound.

@simplyseven007
Great watch. In speaking of pronunciation, “Panerai” is an italian word so, if you want to pronounce it correctly, you should pronounce the “a” (every one) like the “a” in the english word “start”. Your pronunciation of “Panerai” is correct except for the first “a”, that you pronounce like an english vowel. In other words, just pronounce the first “a” as the same as the second one, and it will be perfect!
